Company History

Sidney Millwork Company was founded in 1956, and has been in operation continuously. The present ownership acquired the assets on January 1, 1979. The company was incorporated in 1992.

100 YEARS EXPERIENCE
The operation is housed in 56,512 square feet of manufacturing and heated storage space with 4,500 square feet of office space. The six key employees have been in the millwork/casework business for a combined total of over 100 years.

MODERN
The heart of the business is the MICROVELLUM software suite, operating on a Windows 2000-based server. The entire design process, from shop drawings to cutlists, is performed in MICROVELLUM and AutoCAD 2004.

QUALITY
Laminates are installed using recommended adhesives and set in a 100 ton press. Cutting is accomplished using computerized panel saws capable of cutting 4 inches of laminated material, 5 feet wide, and 12 feet long. Cuts are as clean as a router cut. Both of our SCHELLING saws are top of the line, state of the art equipment. Our HOLZ-HER and BRANDT edgebanders are capable of gluing 3mm PVC, PVC edgebanding, high pressure self-edge, and hardwood edging, using hot melt adhesives. We utilize RITTER, GANOMAT and ZANGHERI & BOSCHETTI dowel boring equipment. Our WEEKE and MORBIDELLI machining centers make the most difficult patterns and layouts neat, clean and accurate. All cases are assembled with 10mm hardwood spiral dowels, and compressed in a HOFER case clamp. Cabinet backs are set with hot glue.

PRODUCTION
We are a small enough company to manufacture on a custom basis, but large enough to manufacture large volumes of casework. 60 employees (administration, manufacturing, and installation crews) are producing $5.5 million in sales annually.

SERVICE
Our finished product is delivered directly to the jobsite in one of our air ride furniture vans. To insure owner satisfaction, we prefer to manufacture, deliver and install our product. We maintain our own installation crews.

SATISFIED CUSTOMERS
All of the above add up to quality casework, quality millwork, and quality installation. Architects, Owners and Contractors approve our methods and products, and most have been repeat customers. We invite you to check with any of our customers.

Dolph M. Harris, President
